Detoxification Protocols

What is Toxicity
Toxicity occurs when something from outside of the body (exogenous) gets into our system that our body views as being foreign and causes negative effects.

A toxin can take many different forms. Stress can be a toxin because we know it can change body chemistry.
However, each person is different. For example, caffeine can be extremely toxic for some people because their bodies don’t know how to metabolize it. With alcohol, some people can have ten drinks and be just fine, and for others one drink can cause them to have a nasty reaction – but there comes a point at which alcohol becomes deadly no matter who you are.

Are we exposed to more Environmental Toxins than before?

Yes. For example in the United States you are exposed to about 80,000 chemicals. For most of these chemicals we have no idea what they do to the human body. In a study by an environmental group on people not working in industry, such as teachers and journalists, the researchers found that the blood of the subjects contained nearly 100 chemicals that did not exist 40 years ago.

How do you determine if you’re toxic?
To determine conclusively you must be tested in a laboratory.

Toxicity and Neurological Disorders

Xylene is a chemical commonly found in paint. Xylene can lead to neurological disorders and cancers.
Toxicity levels within the body can adversely affect Testosterone and Estrogen levels. Toxicity will also affect the immune system.

Detoxification

  • It is better to detox mildly over a long period rather than quickly.
    • This is better for your body.
    • Detoxing quickly can put more stress on your liver.
    • This can make you sick.
    • Not everyone can detox rapidly.
  • Use Primal Clear Ph to detox
  • Use the gentle Liver Protocol

Rapid Detoxification occurs during fat loss

  • Therefore, it is important to combat this release of toxins with an adequate supply of antioxidants
    • A good multivitamin
    • Vitamin C, E, Selenium and Green Tea

 Sources of Toxicity

  • Parabens
    • Throw out any cosmetics that contain any form of paraben.
  • Plastics (Phtalates, Bisphenol A)
    • Never drink from a plastic bottle as plastic leaches into the fluids and when the body ingests this it is treated as a xeno-estrogen.
      • Buy a glass bottle
  • Chemicals used for filtration in swimming pools (chlorine) can cause toxicity in the body
  • Aspartame a highly toxic to the neurological system
  • Soybeans are one of the most sprayed crops and the resulting high pesticide content increases the toxic load on the body.
  • Coffee is the second most highly sprayed crop after strawberries
    • Therefore buy ORGANIC coffee

Detoxification

A major source of toxicity is our tap water. If it is affordable then it is advisable to install a Double reverse osmosis filter at home. This filters out absolutely everything from your water.

Women and Detoxification

Women are poor detoxifiers. They are more prone to most disorders (depression etc) due to low protein intake. Due to this they usually have low serotonin (the happy hormone) levels, which can cause depression.
