Injury Rehabilitation

Once your initial injury has been diagnosed a course of treatment is planned along with the relevant required rehabilitation.
The treatment is carried out during a course of Neuromuscular Therapy sessions and rehabilitation exercises are introduced very early in this phase to ensure that muscle and/or joint function returns to normal as fast as possible.
Rehabilitation can take many courses but very often involves some type of resistance training.
This may start out initially by managing to lift your own body weight successfully and eventually advancing to basic weight training exercises and finally moving onto advanced weight training programs.

Knee Rehabilitation

All Poliquin Strength Coaches who have attained Level 2 or Level 3 have been fully trained in diagnosing (identifying) structural imbalances within the knee joint complex.
They have also been fully trained at rehabilitating all levels of muscle weakness in this area.
For example, the Vastus Medialis (oblique) has a tendency to atrophy (waste away) very quickly after even minor knee surgery. This has the effect of destabilising the knee joint and this can in itself lead to injury.
Therefore, any knee injury can cause this muscle to weaken. This can be strengthened easily with a planned period of progressive exercise.

Shoulder Rehabilitation

All Poliquin Strength Coaches who have attained Level 1, 2 or Level 3 have been fully trained in identifying and resolving structural imbalances within the shoulder joint complex
